Membership
Anyone is welcome to join us at our services and special events. But we want more for you than just to attend. We want you to belong.
While the phrase “church membership” is not found in the Bible, its concept is assumed throughout Scripture. The New Testament always refers to the church as a group to be a part of rather than a place or a service to attend.
Church Membership at Ridgeview formally joins you with this local body of believers. It provides support and accountability that are just not possible without joining. Being a church member is also required to serve in many of our ministry volunteer roles. It also allows you to participate in church matters, including voting on church budgets and the elections of officers, including deacons, trustees, and senior pastors.
There are three ways to join:
Baptism - Being baptized by immersion is required to become a member at Ridgeview. If you are baptized at Ridgeview, you automatically become a church member.
Transfer of Letter - If you have been a member of a church of similar doctrine with a similar membership structure, you can transfer that membership to Ridgeview (we’ll help you with the details).
Statement of Faith - If you have been baptized by immersion but either have not been a member of a Baptist church or the Baptist church you were a member of does not have a similar membership structure, you can join the church by a statement of the facts and a declaration of their faith and love for Christ.
